Cultural Internalization and Language Immersion Students demonstrate that they have actively immersed themselves in authentic Hispanic cultural and linguistic environments and have internalized the language and cultural experiences, from which they have developed personal understanding and new perspectives of Hispanic communities. Students develop intercultural communication skills and strategies, and learn to adapt and respond in effective ways. Pathway 1: Study Abroad: By participating in a study-abroad program in a Spanish-speaking country for one at least summer or one semester. Classes completed in the study-abroad experience may also be counted towards another MLO. Pathway 2: Latino Heritage Community Project: By participating in and completing a community project in a local Latino community, in the target language. Having taken these courses helped me essentially as a person. to have the opportunity to study and realize many things for myself and not get carried away by what other people want me to believe. always looking for a way to contribute to feel useful not only learn something and leave it if not share it with other people. If my colleagues have doubts, I stop to help them understand so that they feel that on the path of teaching we are all going at the same pace. I do not feel a better person for knowing something that they do not feel a better person for being able to share what I have learned. Not all of us understand what we are taught the first time. therefore it is important to help us as classmates, I am pleased to be able to help my classmates because I know that when I do not understand something they offer me their help and give me new examples different from the teacher's. When neither I nor my classmates understand something, that's when I go with the teachers and they look for a different way to explain what I didn't understand. My colleagues and I shared more than one class together and I learned so much from them. especially the dedication they put to get ahead in order to have a better future. I am very happy to find that fellowship in them, they are incredible people but not only they are also my teachers who strive too hard for their students to achieve their goals. I feel that the teachers put themselves in our shoes having already gone through this and although I must say that they understand us better than our own parents because they know what it is to get up and finish with everything that is asked of us and although sometimes we do not find the door We must think that we are not the only ones and that we must continue in the fight to be able to do what we like. Many people who do not go to school ask them the question of why they did not continue studying. They answer that they did not have time or money. but it fills me with pride that I did not have the time either but I did what was necessary to make time, I did not have money but I made it possible to enter the university. Because one day my parents told me that wanting is power and I have always wanted to, wanted to go far, wanted to improve myself and wanted to set a good example. In my research, I wanted to know about Mexican traditions and the role of women who are known to only have to dedicate themselves to cooking and obeying their husbands, but I can say that a great change is seen over the years. I would have liked these changes to be greater, but I was proud to know that women, although not recognized, have always played an important role in history. unfortunately it has not been given the recognition it deserves.
